Can I study a Diploma?

Trying to figure out if you would be accepted to study a Diploma level nationally recognised qualification can be confusing.

Short answer: yes.

For all Diploma-level qualifications, students are required to demonstrate a suitable level of Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN). This is an important part of ensuring each student is prepared to engage with the course materials, complete assessments, and participate successfully in their studies. LLN requirements help make sure students are entering their chosen qualification with the skills needed to support their learning journey and achieve the best possible outcome.

There are generally two ways this requirement can be demonstrated. The first is by already holding a qualification that is higher than a Certificate IV. This can provide evidence that the required level of language, literacy and numeracy has already been achieved through previous study. The second option is to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test. This assessment helps determine whether a student has the foundation skills needed for Diploma-level study.

At AMA Queensland Education and Training Institute, we understand that entry requirements can sometimes feel unclear. That is why we aim to make the process as straightforward as possible. Before you enrol, we assess your suitability and help identify whether you already meet the LLN requirement or whether further assessment may be needed. This allows you to move forward with confidence and a clear understanding of what is required.

Our goal is to take the guesswork out of the enrolment process and provide supportive guidance from the beginning. If you would like more information about Language, Literacy and Numeracy requirements for Diploma qualifications, or if you are unsure whether you meet the criteria, please contact AMA Queensland Education and Training Institute. Our team will be happy to provide further information and help you understand your next steps.
